B550 Warning
A rare issue has been identified with certain B550 motherboards—mainly ASUS models—where a security driver incorrectly flags DMA devices, regardless of the firmware used. This can result in bans when playing games that use Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). Although the majority of reports involve ASUS boards, a few isolated incidents have occurred with other brands, though these are extremely uncommon.
Other chipsets like the B450 and B650 are entirely unaffected by this issue. The problem appears consistently across all types of DMA firmware, including Basic (CFW), Premium (Valorant CFW), and Ultimate (Emulated FW).
For a more reliable and worry-free experience, choosing a non-B550 motherboard is your safest bet. If you do opt for a B550 board—especially an ASUS model—be sure to test thoroughly in low-risk environments first. For most users, the chances of encountering this issue remain very low.
